Sharjah Test wrapped up with a Draw

On the eve of 4th day of Sharjah test, Sri Lanka were planning that they will set a reasonable target to Pakistan and will ask them to have their turn and try to bowled them up to level the series but the what we saw on the start of the last day of the test, drizzling at Sharjah ruined Lanka's plan.
Day begun after about 2 hours delay. Sri Lanka declared their second innings on 181/6 and give Pakistan target  of 255 within 61 overs. This fall of wickets will make it easy for you to understand how strongly Sri Lanka come up to dismissed Pakistan side within 61 overs to clinch victory
1-20 (Mohammad Hafeez, 4.6 ov 2-30 (Azhar Ali, 13.2 ov 3-57 (Younis Khan, 26.5 ov),4-77 (Taufeeq Umar, 41.1 ov)
But It was comfortable for Pakistan in the end, with Shafiq and Misbah stonewalling 16 overs in the fading light. Misbah even shared a light-hearted moment with Sangakkara as the match wound down, jokingly imitating a left-hand batsman.

Champions League final today

The Champions League will have a new champion. It won't be a team that won its domestic Twenty20 tournament. It will be an IPL team, but not the one that was being fancied at the start. It will either be a team that we thought would do well to win a match or a team that didn't look like winning anything halfway through the tournament. It is this ability to surprise, and the compact format - the main draw lasts 16 days, features diverse teams, and five-team groups ensure tough contests for semi-final slots - that the Champions League has going for it.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on the Mumbai Indians in the finals of the Champions league T20 on October 9, 2011 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The match will start at 8:00 p.m. India time.
Both team that have reached the finals of the Champions trophy are teams from the Indian Premier League.  Last year’s winners the Chennai Super kings failed to reach the finals this time around and were also the winners of the last IPL season.
Have a look at the Finalist sides
Mumbai Indians: Harbhajan Singh (capt), AN Ahmed, AC Blizzard, YS Chahal, JEC Franklin, S Kanwar, SL Malinga, KA Pollard, AT Rayudu (wk), R Sathish, SA Yadav.
Royal Challengers Bangalore : Daniel Vettori (c), Chris Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal, Mohammad Kaif, Saurabh Tiwary, Sreenath Aravind, J Syed Mohammad, Arun Karthik (wk), Asad Pathan, Abhimanyu Mithun, Dirk Nannes, Raju Bhatkal.

Ijaz Butt's completes his tenure as Chairman PCB

Pakistan Cricket Board's chairman Ijaz Butt is now completing its three year  tenure as Chairman PCB. He was appointed as Chairman PCB on October 8th,  2008 after Naseem Ashraf. Petren In Chief of Pakisatn Cricket Board, Asif Ali  Zardari has not assigned anyone as a chairman PCB yet.

Ijaz Butt's three year tenure is full of controversies and damage to Pakistan  cricket. In fact, his tenure will be remember as the "Black" in Pakistan cricket's  history. Pakistan faced worldwide shame after Sri Lanka cricket team came under  attack by the terrorists in Lahore while they were off to Hotel to Qaddafi stadium  for their test match against Pakistan. Couple of Sri Lankan players were injured  and luckily they all escaped due to the intelligence of Bus Driver.

Soon after this incident, Cricket playing nations refuse to play in Pakistan due to  attack on Sri Lankan team. That results, door of international cricket closed on  Pakistan.

ICC stepped down Pakistan asone of the host of World CUp 2011 due to security  reasons. Ijaz Butt and company failed to convinced them and thus Pakistan lost  the opportunity to host World Cup. After India, Pakistan was the second country  to host most of WC matches. In fact 17. Followed by Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Pakistan, itself played its group matches at Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Pakistan lost the Semi Final against India at Mohali by 29 runs.

Ijaz Butt made his place in media  after an inquiry that Ijaz Butt, as chairman PCB  enjoying laverages which does not suit any Third World, Poor and IMF gripped  country.
Ijaz Butt has already requested to Patren in Chief to increase his tenure as Chairman PCB.

South African batsman Vaughn van Jaarsveld Bann for Three Months

DURBAN: South African batsman Vaughn van Jaarsveld has been banned from cricket for three months following an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the South African Cricketers' Association (SACA) said on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Van Jaarsveld, who has played two one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches for South Africa tested positive for the banned stimulant sibutramine in November after taking weight loss medication prescribed by his doctor.

“This is a particularly harsh outcome for Vaughn, given the circumstances of this matter,” SACA’s chief executive Tony Irish said in a statement.

“It seems likely that Vaughn will not be in a position to appeal and so will have to live with this suspension which comes at the worst possible time for him. We, as his player association, will be supporting him through this period.

“The decision does, however, illustrate the dangers for all sports persons unwittingly taking medication, or supplements, which may potentially contain prohibited substances. It has become so important that players and athletes actually check and double check the contents of all medications,” he added.

ICC warns Sri Lanka over "Poor" Galle's Pitch

Sri Lanka's cricket board (SLC) has been officially warned for the "poor" quality of the pitch at Galle, which hosted the first Test in their recent series against Australia, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Friday.

The SLC was in line for a sanction after the pitch was criticised as "too dry" by both teams after Australia won the test by 125 runs last month.
Galle hosted the first Test match in the recently concluded three-match series against Australia. Chris Broad, who officiated in the match, put across his concerns regarding the quality of the pitch in his match report.

“We have come to a decision that the pitch prepared for the match should be rated as ‘poor’,” said ICC's General Manager Dave Richardson.

The ICC can either issue a warning and/or fine (for a first offence) or even suspend the international status of the venue in the case of recurring offences.

“It was clear from the video footage of the match that the amount of turn, especially early in the match, was excessive and there were occasions (even on the first day) where the ball went through the surface of the pitch, bouncing unusually steeply from a good length,” he said.

“Whilst it is understandable and acceptable for a pitch to deteriorate over the course of the match, for a pitch to exhibit this type of behaviour at relatively early stages of the match was not acceptable.

“We do not wish to see a pitch that is too heavily weighted in favour of the batsmen, in this instance, the balance was just too much in favour of the bowler,” Richardson said. Australia had won the Test match to by 125 runs.

“Taking into account that it was the first time that a pitch at Galle has been rated as ‘poor’ and given the intention of the curator to prepare a pitch that provided a fair balance between bat and ball, we have decided to impose a warning as the sanction,” Richardson revealed.

The ICC has also called for pitch consultant Andy Atkinson to inspect the Galle pitch and suggest corrective methods to improve the quality of the pitch.

Andy Atkinson will inspect the venue by the end of this month.

He said that world knows that Pakistan has produced outclass cricketers in every department of cricket. We have to forget match fixing and security issues with Pakistan and try to improve the culture within the team. Give the players the confidence and responsiblity of what they do and if they manage to do this, Pakistan may have the great potential ot winning next World cup in 2015.

Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley Engaged

Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley Engaged
The couple has thanked their fans via twitter – with the cricket legend denying earlier reports that he had proposed in a crowded Scottish restaurant.
“I didn’t propose in front of 200 people at dinner. It was done privately and was very romantic if I say so myself. Ps left knee is sore!!!”
Hurley was photographed Saturday wearing a sapphire and diamond ring, which reportedly cost Warne at least nearly $80,000.
They did not hide affection for one another on the historic golf course, where Warne earlier competed in a celebrity pro-am.

Shane Keith Warne (born 13 September 1969) is a former Australian international cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatestbowlers in the history of the game. In 2000, he was selected by a panel of cricket experts as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century, the only specialist bowler selected in the quintet and the only one still playing at the time. He is also a cricket commentator and a professional poker player.

Elizabeth Jane Hurley (born 10 June 1965) is an English model and actress who became known as a girlfriend of Hugh Grant in the 1990s. In 1994, as Grant became the focus of worldwide media attention due to the global box office success of his film Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied him to the film's Los Angeles premiere in a plunging black Versace dress held together with gold safety pins, which gained her instant media attention

Abdul Razzak to lead Pakistan in The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes

All rounder Abdul Razzak has been announced to lead Pakistan in The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. The 31-year-old, dropped from the national side since the World Cup in April, will lead a second-string Pakistan team for the Hong Kong event, which will be held from October 28 to 30.

Umar Akmal and Sohail Tanveer -- two more discarded players from the Test squad which faces Sri Lanka later this month -- were also among the seven-member squad.
Ramiz Raja, Hammad Azam, Yasir Shah and Sharjeel Khan are the others.
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is an annual 10-team international cricket tournament held at the Kowloon Cricket Club and fully sanctioned by the International Cricket Council. The tournament is made for television, with rules and a venue that encourage aggressive batting and high scoring. Because every player (except the wicket-keeper) is required to bowl one over, the format suits all-rounders.

Pakistan have featured regularly in the Hong Kong sixes event which is held annually with teams from all Test playing nations taking part in it. Pakistan have been the champion of the tournament fourth times including three consecutive. I.e. 1992, 1997, 2001 and 2002.
in the last tournament, they were runners up after a thrilling lost against Australia in 2010.

Sialkot Stallions - King of T20 Jungle

Faysal Bank National T20 concludes with Sialkot Stallions thrilling win over Rawalpindi Rams.
National stadium Karachi witnessed the real game of Twenty20 when Sialkot Stallions and Rawalpindi Rams showed great game of cricket.

Shoaib Malik's Sialkot Stallions Sialkot chose to bat on a pitch that produced high scores through the tournament and made a quick start. Imran Nazir and Shakeel Ansar looted 13 runs off Soahil Tanvir's first over, and after Nazir departed Ansar and Qaiser Abbas put together 85 for the second wicket. Rawalpindi's bowlers bowled full lengths, and Qaiser timed his drives sweetly. The pair took the score to 100 for 1 in the 12th over, but both batsmen fell in the space of five balls, to Awais Zia's part-time offspin. Both went attempting big shots: Qaiser was stumped after charging down the track and Ansar chipped in the air to deep midwicket.

That brought Shoaib Malik and Shahid Yousuf together, fresh from a 127-run stand in the semi-finals against Lahore. Yousuf hit the first three balls of Zia's next over into the off side for fours, and Malik continued the form he was in during his 88 not out against Lahore. Rawalpindi did well to concede just 10 runs off the last two overs, but 180 was a tough total to chase.
The aggression from Sialkot Stallions got aggressive reply as The chase got off to an explosive start, with Zia smacking five fours in the first over, and two sixes in the second. Zia's innings was cut short on 32 off 13 balls, when he swept Hasan to deep square leg. While other bowlers struggled to concede fewer than seven runs an over, Hasan had figures of 4-0-11-2. He choked the runs by varying the flight and lengths of his deliveries while maintaining a tight line.

The rest of Sialkot's bowlers weren't as accurate and Rawalpindi's opener Naved Malik picked his moments to attack. Rawalpindi managed to stay abreast of the required-rate for most of the chase but lost wickets regularly. When Naved was caught at deep midwicket for 67, Rawalpindi needed 36 off 23 balls with five wickets in hand. In the 17th over, Hammad Azam smashed a six over long-on and lofted over extra-cover for four off consecutive balls. Nineteen were required off the last two overs, but it was Hasan that had had the final say, bowling a tight over to ensure a Sialkot win.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ibad Khan was the chief guest of the Prize distribution ceremony. He presented trophy to Sialkot Stallions's captain Shoaib Malik. On this occasion Governor Sindh request Sani Mirza, wife of Shoaib Malik to present the trophy to her husband.

Sialkot Stallions, collectively as a team, announced Rs. 1 Million to the flood victims relief work.

ICC introduces New Rules for Test, One Day and T20s

As has always been the practice, changes to the playing conditions for Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) take effect from Saturday 1 October, the ICC has confirmed.

The amendments have been approved by the ICC Executive Board following proposals made by the ICC Cricket Committee at its meeting in London in May.

It is important to note that the playing conditions are applicable to international cricket and must be read together with the Laws of Cricket. Whilst a playing condition may have the effect of amending the Laws of Cricket as they may apply to international cricket these changes are not amendments to the Laws of Cricket themselves.

In particular it should be noted that the changes to the playing conditions in relation to runners and to the running out of the non-striker, as set out below, are only applicable to international cricket.

The amendments to the playing conditions are:

Two new balls per innings (ODIs only)

"Each fielding team shall have two new balls for its innings, to be used in alternate overs, i.e. one from each end."

Powerplays (ODIs only)

Whilst the total number of powerplay overs remain at 20 per innings with the first block of 10 being at the commencement of the innings (for an uninterrupted match), the remaining second and third block of powerplay overs (blocks of five overs for an uninterrupted match) may not be taken so as to commence earlier than the 16th over nor be completed later than the 40th over.

This restriction will not apply for reduced innings of scheduled duration of less than 40 overs.

Obstructing the field (Tests, ODIs and T20Is)

A new playing condition has been introduced clarifying that on appeal from the fielding team, if the umpire feels that a batsman, whilst running between the wickets, has significantly changed his direction without probable cause thereby obstructing a fielder's attempt to run him out, the batsman should be given out obstructing the field. It shall not be relevant whether a run out would have been affected or not.

It should be noted that this playing condition enhances Law 37 and does not replace it.

The circumstances described in the new playing condition (i.e. a batsman significantly changing his direction of running without probable cause) are only one example of an action which will qualify as willfully obstructing the field. Accordingly, it is still possible for a batsman to be given out obstructing the field in circumstances where he has not significantly changed his direction of running provided that the umpire feels that by some other actions it is clear that the batsman had intended to obstruct the field. This will depend on the circumstances of each case.

In making a decision in this regard, the on-field umpires are entitled to consult the third umpire in deciding whether the obstruction was willful or not with the final decision being made and conveyed by the relevant on-field umpire.

Runners (Tests, ODIs and T20Is)

"A runner for a batsman shall not be permitted."

Unless nine wickets are down, the injured or ill batsman has the option of retiring hurt and returning to bat at a later stage should the need and/or opportunity arise.

Calculation of the period for which an injured or ill player who has been absent from the field shall not be permitted to bowl or bat i.e. penalty time (Tests, ODIs and T20Is)

A playing condition has been introduced to clarify that if at the commencement of an interruption in play through ground, weather or light conditions or for other exceptional circumstances, a player is on the field but still has some unexpired penalty time remaining from a previous absence, he shall automatically be allowed to count any such stoppage time as playing time.

Bowler attempting to run-out non-striker before delivery (Tests, ODIs and T20Is)

Previously, the bowler could only run out a non-striker backing up if he did so before he had entered his delivery stride. This meant that as the bowler's back foot landed, the non-striker could move down the wicket before the bowler actually delivered the ball, gaining an unfair advantage.

The following new playing condition 42.11 addresses this point and reads as follows:

"The bowler is permitted, before releasing the ball and provided he has not completed his usual delivery swing, to attempt to run out the non-striker. Whether the attempt is successful or not, the ball shall not count as one of the over. If the bowler fails in an attempt to run out the non-striker, the umpire shall call and signal Dead ball as soon as possible."

It should be noted that umpires shall deem the bowler to have completed his delivery swing once his bowling arm passes the normal point of ball release.

Extra time to complete a match (Tests only)

The standard Test match playing conditions now provide that:

"The umpires may decide to play 15 minutes (a minimum of four overs) extra time at the scheduled lunch or tea interval of any day if requested by either captain if, in the umpires' opinion, it would bring about a definite result in that session. If the umpires do not believe a result can be achieved no extra time shall be allowed.

"If it is decided to play such extra time, the whole period shall be played out even though the possibility of finishing the match may have disappeared before the full period has expired.

"Only the actual amount of playing time up to the maximum 15 minutes extra time by which play is extended on any day shall be deducted from the total number of hours of play remaining, and the following session of play shall be reduced by the amount of time by which play was previously extended under this clause."

Delay of lunch interval when nine wickets down (Tests only):

As is currently the case with tea interval, the playing conditions now provide that if nine wickets are down at the time of the scheduled lunch interval, the interval shall be delayed by a maximum of 30 minutes.

Duration of interval between innings (ODIs only)

Geoff Marsh named as New Sri Lanka coach

Geoff Marsh, former Australian batsman has been named as New Sri Lanka coach. cricinfo.com reported. Marsh joined Sri Lanka after the a successful completion of tenure of Trevor Bayliss.
Former Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss

Currently Geoff Marsh is doing coaching of IPL's Pune Warriors.
Talking to ESPNcricinfo, Marsh said, "I told Pune Warriors and they were very good about it. Coaching an international team takes a lot of time and being able to fit both of them in just wouldn't have happened,". "They're very comfortable with it. I enjoyed my year at Pune Warriors. They're a fantastic family. They could see that coaching an international team is an honour, so it was all good." He added.
Marsh had been in talks with Sri Lanka Cricket when he was in the country during Australia's recent tour. His appointment ends a period of upheaval in Sri Lankan coaching following Bayliss' exit.
Remember, Sri Lanka had a very good time with former Australian first class cricketer
Trevor Bayliss. Sri Lanka lost to India in World Cup 2011 Final by 6 wickets.

Geoff Marsh at a Glance:

Subsequently, he took over as coach of Zimbabwe from 2000 to 2004. He was also a national selector for the Australian team.

Pakistan 100% at Zimbabwe

Team Pakistan concluded a successful tour of Zimbabwe after sweeping them up in the two Twenty20 matches by 2-0 under the captainship of Misbah Ul Haq.

Pakistan team played a test match, three one day internationals and two twenty20 matches.
Young team Pakistan won all three types of cricket, outclass Zimbabwe in every department of cricket.
but the job isn't done yet. Despite  a 100% winning ratio, team Pakistan has to work hard to go extra mile.
Zimbabwe had given tough time to green shirts at many stages and in all three types of cricket. Test match was looking to be a draw when Pakistan came back strongly in 2nd innings with ball and won by 7 wicktes.
In One day and T20 series, Zimbabwe had good time with bat and ball.
Pakistan has to work hard to overcome their problems as their next assignment will be the runners up of World Cup 2011.
Anyhow... We Wish the Green Shirts for their next assignment. Meanwhile.. its time for celebrations!!!

India Tour to England - A Horrible Reality

2011 Summer cricket has proved to be the most Horrible cricket of the World Champion India. After a white wash in test series against England, India were looking to remove the black spot of white wash by beating up the Quarter finalist of the World cup 2011 England in a Twenty20 match and 5 One day international series.
Their dream is still a dream as we saw last evening at Oval (09-09-2011) when India failed to defend 234. India's batting order is a pioneer batting order in the world cricket as we have witnessed in the past. India's soul has produced many world class batsmen which the cricket world praise even today.
The current ODI series has have  two matches. Lets see what how India finish it!!!

Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe - A Narrow win of the visitors

Pakistan only got 59 for 2 in last 10 overs. Pathetic!!!

After setting a modest target of 247, Pakistan had to rely on its feilding which has always been week fielding in world cricket. On the other hand, Pakistan was playing with fresh faces. Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan with mid experience Sohail Tanvir and Saeed Ajmal.
Sibanda and Brandan taylor were the two Zimbabwean players which proved themselves as the Man of Crisis as they helped Zimbabwe to accelarate to the modest target of 248. Sibanda scored 73 off 117 balls while Brandan Taylor secured 84 of 159 deliveries.
Pakistan failed to dismissed Zimbabwe XI and they could only sent back seven Zimbabwean players. Here it comes its fielding which secured 5 runs, restricted Zimbabwe to score 242 for the loss of Seven wickets. Younis Khan declared Man of the match who scored 78 of 86 balls.

Pakistan has now lead of 1-0 of the 3 match series followed by a Twenty20.

Unsuccessful India continues

unsucessfull india continues as England thrashed the world champions in the second one day international of the fifth Npower Cricket Series 2011 here at Rose Bowl, England.
Desperate team India wanted to break their way of loosing consecutive against England this summer but once again England outclass them and won the second ODI comprehensively by 7 wickets.
India's bowling attack proved themselves to be the weakest attack on England's soul that they couldn't break the loosing streak in England. They have lost the worst series test ever abroad which is 4-0, a Twenty20 match against England and now 2nd ODI at Ross Bowl. Remember, the first one day was abandoned due to rain
